Officials Update Rollover Crash That Closed Route 13 Early Thursday

At approximately 9:26 this morning, New Castle County Paramedics, along with emergency crews from Delaware City Fire Company, Port Penn Fire Company, Wilmington Manor Fire Company, Christiana Fire Company, and Delaware State Police Aviation responded to a motor vehicle collision with reports of a vehicle rollover.

Paramedic Senior Corporal Ruoy Koontz said the incident occurred at the intersection of Wrangle Hill Road and South DuPont Highway. Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found one patient requiring advanced life support care.

The patient was treated for a possible head injury, as well as extremity injuries. The patient was transported to Christiana Hospital Emergency Room via Delaware City Fire Company ambulance and accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in stable condition during transport.

Delaware State Police is investigating the crash.

New Castle – Rescue crews along with Delaware State Police and Trooper 4 are responding to Route 13 SB near the DMV for a rollover crash with injuries.

Crews have closed the road to allow the helicopter to land.

One person has reportedly self extricated from the vehicle.
