Police: Woman Charged With Assault After Pepper Spray Incident

Magnolia – The Delaware State Police have arrested 23-year-old Jazmyne M. Harris of Dover, on assault, stemming from an altercation that occurred Saturday afternoon, according to Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Heather Pepper.

Pepper said on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at approximately 12:50 p.m., Troopers responded to Douglas Fir Road in the Whispering Pines Mobile Home Park for a subject who was maced in the face during a physical altercation. Contact was made with the 20-year-old female victim who sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the fight with Harris.

The investigation determined the victim and Harris, who were acquaintances, engaged in a verbal argument that escalated to a physical altercation outside the victims’ residence. During the fight, Harris maced the victim in the face before fleeing the scene before police arrived.

Troopers contacted Harris by telephone, and she turned herself into Troop 3, where she was charged with one count of Assault 2nd (felony). She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court and released on her own recognizance.
