Troopers Investigating Convenience Store Robbery In Newark

Newark – The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at La Favorita Convenience Store in the 600 block of E. Chestnut Hill Road in Newark, according to Public Information Officer, Sergeant Darren Lester.

Lester said the incident occurred on Friday, June 26, 2020 at approximately 4:46 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to La Favorita Convenience Store for a report of a robbery in progress. Upon arrival, it was learned that an unknown masked Hispanic male entered the business and demanded money from the victim/employee while brandishing both a handgun and knife. The suspect then removed cash in plain view from under the cash register and fled the store in an unknown vehicle and direction.

Suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 6 foot, average build and being early to mid-twenties. No clothing description provided.

No injuries to the victim were sustained.
