County Police Respond To Multiple Shootings Overnight, One Shot In The Head

During the overnight hours, patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to multiple shootings throughout New Castle County.

(Wilmington, De 19805) Last night (Jul 14) at approximately 9:45 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of the intersection of Clifton Ave and Sylvan Ave. in the community of Roselle, for the report of a shooting that had just occurred. 

When the officers arrived, they discovered a 20-year-old victim seated in a vehicle that was parked nearby in Biden Park. The victim was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his abdomen. 

He was transported to a local area hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

(Wilmington, DE 19809) Then at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area Bedford Drive in the community of Edgemoor Gardens for a report of shots being fired into a vehicle. 

When the officers arrived, they contacted a 19-year-old victim who stated she was inside of a parked vehicle when a second vehicle drove up at shot at her car.  The victim was not struck by the gunfire but did sustain minor injuries from the broken glass.

(Wilmington, DE 19805) Then, earlier this morning (Jul 15) at approximately 1:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Homestead Rd in the community of Alban Park for a report taken by a patient in a local hospital who stated that he had been shot there. 

When the officers arrived, they were able to locate a scene in the 500 block of Homestead road.  The officers then learned that the 29-year-old victim had been shot in the head but was listed in stable condition. Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at all of the scenes and have assumed the investigations.
