Police: Shots Fired At Chick-Fil-A In Dover After Driver “Cut Off” In Drive-Thru

Dover – At approximately 7:00 Friday evening, Dover Police responded to the Chick-Fil-A located at 1440 N Dupont Highway for reports of shots fired.

Dover Police spokesman Mark Hoffman said an investigation is underway. The preliminary investigation has found that a male suspect may have been “cut off” in the Chick-Fil-A drive-through around that time and fired two rounds into the air and then sped away.

Readers reported that multiple police officers responded to the incident within minutes. Readers also told First State Update that several customers were stuck in the drive-thru line while police investigated the incident.

The restaurant sits directly across Dupont Highway from the Delaware State Police Headquarters. It is unclear if Troopers responded to assist.

Hoffman said no injuries or damage were reported.
