Route 1 Closed Early Saturday Due To Rollover Crash With Ejection

Dover – Just before 4:00, Saturday morning rescue crews from Dover Fire along with DAFB Fire, EMTs from St Francis, Kent County Medics, Trooper 4, and Trooper 2 were dispatched to Route 1 SB in the area of Dover Air Force Base for a motor vehicle accident.

While en route to the scene crews learned that a vehicle had rolled over and at least one patient was ejected from the vehicle.

Shortly after crews arrived on scene, Trooper 2 was informed that they would be utilized. Trooper 2 advised a 12 minute ETA. Command confirming a single-vehicle rollover with ejection.

Command then ordered the road closed asking for DELDOT to respond to the scene.

Upon their arrival, Trooper 2 landed in the southbound lanes of Route 1 near the crash site.

At around 4:30 Saturday morning Command placed the incident under control.

The condition of the patient, a female, is unclear at this time.
