Teen Seriously Burned After Fireworks Accident In Felton

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the injuries sustained by an eighteen-year-old Felton woman after she was struck by fireworks last night, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio.

Chionchio said the victim sustained 2nd and 3rd degree burns to her lower extremities. The firework, commonly referred as a “fountain”,  was ignited by another person and accidentally knocked over, spraying the victim with burning embers.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) ambulance transported the victim around 9:00 pm from a residence in the 300 block of Cattle Drive in the Rosewood Farms development to the Bayhealth Hospital – Kent Campus in Dover, Delaware. She was listed in stable condition.
