Troopers: Robbery Suspect Charged, Released On Unsecured Bond

Wilmington- The Delaware State Police have arrested 59-year-old Craig C. Shambor of Wilmington for Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, according to Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Heather Pepper.

Pepper said the incident occurred on June 25, 2020, at approximately 9:30 p.m. when Shambor entered the Walgreens located at 2121 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, and approached the sales counter. Shambor held an object wrapped in a bandana and displayed it in a way to indicate it was a handgun, according to Pepper. Shambor ordered the clerk to open the register, but the clerk was unable, and Shambor fled the business empty-handed. No one was injured during the incident.

Through investigative means, troopers were able to identify Shambor as a suspect positively. On July 22, 2020, Shambor was taken into custody without incident at his residence.

He was transported to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following crime:

Attempted Robbery 1st Degree (felony)
Shambor was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #2 and released on a $20,000 unsecured bond.
