Police Investigating Three Separate Pedestrian Struck Accidents Wednesday

Three pedestrians were struck yesterday in Delaware according to officials.

Just before 4:30, Wednesday afternoon rescue crews from the Mill Creek Fire Company responded to Route 7 at Stanton Christiana Road for reports of a pedestrian struck.

Reports from the scene indicate that in this incident the striking vehicle fled the scene. The patient was transported to the hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Just over an hour later rescue crews from the Delaware Air National Guard Fire Company, Good Will, and Wilmington Manor Fire Companies along with New Castle County Paramedics and
Delaware State Police responded to the intersection of Frenchtown Road and Sunset Boulevard in the area of Hares Corner for a pedestrian struck, according to Paramedic Corporal Yvonne Russell.

Russell said upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found the patient, a 77-year-old-female, in care of emergency medical technicians. The patient suffered injuries to her head, arms, and abdomen. She was transported to Christiana Hospital via Wilmington Manor Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.

Hours later, at approximately 9:10 Wednesday evening, New Castle County Paramedics and surrounding fire companies were dispatched to the intersection of East Brigantine Court and Skyline Drive for a pedestrian struck.

Arriving medics found the patient, a 19-year-old-female, who suffered injuries to her head, neck, and back. She was treated on scene and later transported to Christiana Hospital via Mill Creek Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. She too was in stable condition at the time of transport.
