Troopers: Woman In Relationship Charged With Pepper Spraying Man’s Wife

Dover- The Delaware State Police have charged 24-year-old BRESHAE A. BROOKS with Felony Assault after she peppered sprayed an acquaintance of hers, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on August 13, 2020, at approximately 11:00 a.m., when Troopers were dispatched to a residence on Sapp Drive in Dover in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, Troopers met with an 18-year-old female resident who advised that Brooks had responded to her residence when an argument ensued over Brooks having a relationship with the victim’s husband. said Jaffe.

During the argument, Brooks sprayed the victim with OC spray causing minor chemical burns, according to Jaffe. The victim declined medical treatment. Brooks fled the residence prior to police arrival.

Troopers made contact with Brooks at her place of employment in Dover and took her into custody without incident. She was transported back to Troop 3 where she was charged with one count of Felony Assault 2nd Degree. Brooks was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on her own recognizance.
