ChristianaCare-GoHealth Urgent Care Plans New Urgent Care Centers In North Wilmington And Pike Creek

New Castle County residents will soon have new options for urgent medical care with the opening of two new ChristianaCare-GoHealth Urgent Care Centers this fall. A new location in Pike Creek at 4724 Limestone Road and a Talleyville site in Fairfax Shopping Center at 2305 Concord Pike are both scheduled to open in November 2020.

The addition of these two new locations brings the total number of ChristianaCare-GoHealth Urgent Care centers to seven since the partnership launched in March 2020. ChristianaCare-GoHealth Urgent care plans to add a significant number of additional new sites over the next twelve months to ensure that more Delaware residents have effortless access to unparalleled care. The partnership combines ChristianaCare’s long-standing reputation for high-quality, integrated ambulatory health services and GoHealth Urgent Care’s industry-leading patient satisfaction ratings, customer-focused technology and award-winning urgent care center design.

“The ChristianaCare-GoHealth partnership positions us as the preferred provider of urgent care services in Delaware and coordinates care with ChristianaCare’s robust primary and specialty care services,” said Sharon Kurfuerst, Ed.D, OTR/L, system chief operating officer at ChristianaCare. “We will continue this growth in the year ahead as we look to meet the urgent care needs of the communities we serve.”

The ChristianaCare-GoHealth Urgent Care centers provide a more accessible, convenient and comfortable alternative to costlier, more time-consuming emergency department visits for everyday illnesses and non-life-threatening injuries, such as colds, flu, fever, asthma, allergies, emphysema, minor skin lacerations, cuts, burns, urinary tract infections, sports injuries, fractures, sprains and strains. The centers will have on-site X-ray services and provide COVID-19 testing.

ChristianaCare-GoHealth Urgent Care patients can save their spot online or just walk in, and pre-registration can be completed digitally in advance, ensuring that patients will have even quicker access to high-quality clinical providers. ChristianaCare-GoHealth Urgent Care visits typically take less than an hour.

“We’re excited to serve our neighbors in North Wilmington and Pike Creek with high quality, affordable urgent care services,” said Rob Malizia, M.D., medical director and head of operations for ChristianaCare-GoHealth Urgent Care. “Our unique model of care, expertise and customer focus delivers greater convenience, enabling us to provide the right care, at the right place and right time in the most cost-appropriate setting.”
