Police: Man Caught Nude In The Act At Walmart, 16-Year-Old’s Photo Leads To Arrest

Georgetown Police have arrested a Georgetown man for indecent exposure after he was observed, according to Detective Joey Melvin, Public Information Officer.

Melvin said the incident occurred on September 11, 2020, at approximately 6:50 p.m. at the Georgetown Walmart. A 16-year-old female exited the store and walked to her vehicle. After entering her vehicle, the female was contacted by a male who was occupying a vehicle parked directly next to hers. The male, later identified as Myron Hopkins, 30, was partially nude and in the process of committing a lewd act, according to Malvin. The female became alarmed and immediately contacted her parent and 911.

The victim was able to capture an image of the suspect that led to his identification. It was also learned that during the incident, a 2-year-old child was in the back seat of the suspect’s vehicle, said Malvin.

Georgetown Officers located Myron Hopkins at his residence in Georgetown and took him into custody without incident.

He was charged with:
Indecent Exposure 2nd Degree
Lewdness
Sexual Harassment
Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Hopkins was processed and arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $1000.00 secured bond.
