Woman Succumbs To Injuries Suffered In Accident Wednesday, Name Released

Millsboro- Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at approximately 1:54 p.m. on John J. Williams Highway and Layton Davis Road, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Heather Pepper.

Pepper said a 2006 Ford F250 pickup truck operated by a 57-year-old male of Millsboro was exiting the parking lot of WMF Watercraft & Marine located at the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Layton Davis Road. A 2013 Buick Verano operated by a 64-year-old male of Millsboro was traveling eastbound on John J. Williams Highway approaching the intersection. The Ford pulled out from the parking lot, intending to travel west on John J. Williams Highway, directly into the path of the Buick, resulting in the left front of the Ford striking the right front of the Buick, according to Pepper.

67-year-old Evelyn R. Westover of Millsboro, who was seated in the Buickā€™s front passenger seat, was transported to an area hospital in serious condition. She later succumbed to her injuries on October 29, 2020.

This crash remains under investigation by Delaware State Police Troop 7 Crash Reconstruction Unit. Anyone with information regarding the collision should contact Detective K.
