Firefighters Working To Stop Propane Leak Near Port Of Wilmington

New Castle – Just before 6:30 Monday evening firefighters from the Hollaway Terrace and Minqadale Fire Companies responded to the 300 block of Pigeon Point Road for reports a commercial propane leak.

Upon arrival, crews reported an active leak and requested zone fire police to close the roads in the area of the leak.

After accessing the situation, Command reported that there was a 30,000-gallon propane tank with a malfunctioning release valve that was venting. Crews have deployed hand lines to dissipate the propane while they work to bring the incident under control.

Crews remain on working to place the incident under control.
