Police: Suspect Sought In Gas Station Shooting Incident

The Dover Police Department is seeking a suspect involved in a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday afternoon, according to Public Information Office Sergeant Mark Hoffman.

Hoffman said at approximately 2:48 p.m., officers responded to the U.S. Gas service station at 461 N. DuPont Highway for a report of shots fired during a verbal altercation.

The investigation revealed that Joshua Brown (40) was involved in a verbal altercation with an employee about a purchase. During the altercation, Brown stated “I’ll shoot” and removed a black handgun from his waistband and fired one shot in the direction of the employee, added Hoffman. The employee was not injured. Brown then fled the area.

Joshua Brown is currently wanted by the Dover Police Department on the following charges:
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (2x)
-Reckless Endangering 1st Degree
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapon
