Man Charged With Murder One In Salem Woods Fatal Stabbing

New Castle County Police have released details of the fatal stabbing that only First State Update reported this afternoon.

Officials said that earlier this afternoon, patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the unit block of Risa Court in the community of Salem Woods for an assault. When the officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

The patrol officers were able to take a suspect into custody at the scene. Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.

Detectives have charged the suspect, 38-year-old, Marcello Williams, with one count felony Murder 1st, one count Felony Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, and one count Felony Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited.

Just after 1:10 Thursday afternoon, rescue crews from several agencies responded to the unit block of Risa Court in Salem Woods for reports of a fight with police on scene.

Sources tell First State Update that a male subject was stabbed at this location and was in grave condition. Subsequent reports indicate that the male was “resuscitated” and was en route to the trauma center.
