Tractor-Trailer, Car Collided On Icy Roth Bridge Early Tuesday

Just after 5:30 Tuesday morning rescue crews from the Delaware City Fire Company and surrounding responders were dispatched to the Roth Bridge for a motor vehicle accident.

While en route crews were alerted to use caution as the bridge was icy. Responding crews then requested DelDOT to treat the roads. Command also added other area bridges to the list of bridges that needed to be treated.

Crews arriving on scene found two vehicles involved in the accident.
The driver of a tractor-trailer trailer involved in the accident was uninjured. The driver of the pictured vehicle was evaluated by New Castle County Medics, however, it is not clear if that patient was transported to the hospital.

The accident and the icy road conditions contributed to delays in the morning commute.
