Woman Injured In 35-Foot Fall In Rehoboth Medevacked To CER

Rehoboth Beach – A woman injured in a fall in Rehoboth Beach sas been transported to the Christiana Hospital Emergency Room (CER) by air on Saturday.

Just before 2:00 this afternoon, Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 2 landed at Christiana Hospital with a woman injured in what officials are referring to as a long fall.

Minutes before landing at the hospital, the helicopter’s Trooper medic reported the woman’s injuries to Christina Base. The medic told doctors that the woman had fallen from a 30 to 35-foot wall.

The original call, dispatched at around 12:45 by the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center, brought crews from the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company and Sussex County Medics to a fitness center in the 35000 block Airport Road. Trooper 2 was added shortly thereafter.

The fitness center’s website shows that they have a 34′ Tall Climbing Wall with an auto-belay device, however, it’s not clear if the woman was injured on the rock wall.
