The Dover Police Department was assisting Delaware Probation and Parole with a probation check of Jeremiah Hampton (26) after failing to report for probation for multiple months, according to Sergeant Mark Hoffman.
Hoffman said when officers contacted Hampton in his bedroom, he attempted to throw a 9mm handgun of out his bedroom window. Officers were able to take Hampton into custody and located the handgun, a 9mm extended magazine and, 8.7 grams of marijuana inside of the room.
Hampton was committed to SCI on a Violation of Probation and charged with the following offenses:
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Tampering with Physical Evidence
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia
