Detectives Working Monday’s Fatal Stabbing Obtain First Degree Murder Warrant Overnight

New Castle County Police Homicide Detectives have obtained arrest warrants for murder and associated charges overnight.

The warrants recently added to the Delaware Criminal Justice Information System are sworn out in the name of the person believed to be the person of interest referred to in NCCPD’s statement on Tuesday.

Although police have yet to publicly identify the victim or the person of interest in Monday’s fatal stabbing in Bear, First State Update has learned the names via our own reporting.

When running the name through the system on Tuesday nothing came back to the name. Running the name Wednesday morning we found warrants for Murder First Degree and Possession Of A Deadly Weapon During The Commission Of A Felony.

We also found that Detective John Mancuso, the lead investigator in the Bear homicide investigation, is listed as the affiant on the warrants.

Police have not confirmed that that warrants issued overnight are connected to Monday’s incident.

This is a developing story.
