Veteran With Little Known Family To Be Laid To Rest Friday

A military veteran will be laid to rest on Friday with little or no family in attendance according to the Delaware Patriot Guard.

Little is know about the veteran. A post on the group’s Facebook page indicates they are waiting on waiting for details from VA Hospital.

The service will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Friday between 12:00 and 2:00. Covid-19 directives to be followed.

The service comes one year to the day that Delawareans came together to lay Korean War veteran Allister Barker to rest. Readers will remember that Barker was expected to be laid to rest without any family able to attend. That story can be read below.

First State Update has reached out to the VA Hospital. We will update this story hopefully later today.
