Fatal Wilmington Gun Battle Caught On Camera Saturday

Wilmington Police are investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred at approximately 5:33 p.m. in the 300 block of West 26th Street.

Police said they located a 20-year-old male gunshot victim who was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The shooting was captured on video and posted online, however, FSU is not posting the video at this time due to safety concerns for the poster. The video shows three males who appear to be in their teens or early twenties running through the intersection of 26th and Jefferson Streets firing handguns as others are firing at them. The trio appears to try and take cover but for some reason turns back towards the intersection when the 20-year-old can be heard getting shot.

This shooting was the first of at least two shootings that occurred on Saturday. Readers also reported hearing a gun battle in the Hill Top section of Wilming Saturday night. Police have not released details on the second shooting or the reported gun battle.
