Beginning on April 12, 2021, DART will launch a new on-demand, micro-transit service, called DART Connect.
DART Connect is described as a rideshare-like transit experience that uses smaller vehicles to provide bus service on-demand to customers. DART Connect uses the same vehicles and will be operated by the same DART drivers while offering customers more direct, convenient, and frequent trips to dozens of new destinations. For the same price as a DART bus fare, customers will be able to travel to more destinations without waiting for a bus schedule.
Instead of planning a trip around a bus schedule, customers can now book a trip within minutes. DART says waits are expected to be no more than 15 minutes during service hours.
Users can download the DART Connect app in your app store or call 1-800-652-DART, Option 3. You can also create a simple account [name, email and phone number] via this link .
Hours of operation are 5:45 am to 8 PM Monday through Friday. DART Connect will not operate on DART holidays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas).
The cost to use DART Connect is the same as a DART Bus fare – $2 per ride. Day, week, 30-day and multi-ride tickets are available. Fares can be paid using cash or the DART Pass app. All discounts and passes apply per DART fare policy.
DART Connect is available to everyone who needs a ride in or around Georgetown, Millsboro or in between. For customers traveling in this area, it will provide first and last-mile connections to residents of Georgetown and Millsboro on other DART bus routes, the 206, 212, and 303 in Georgetown, and the 215 in Millsboro.
DART Connect will replace the 901 and 902 Flex Routes. Flex Route 903 (Seaford) is not a part of this change and will continue as a Flex Route.
DART is launching the service to provide our customers in Georgetown and Millsboro with more flexible and convenient travel options.
Users will call 1-800-652-DART, option 3 or use the DART Connect App to request a ride. Customers will pick up at a safe location within easy walking distance of the location at which they requested a pickup. Rides are shared; other riders going in the same direction will be picked up and dropped off along the way.
DART Connect will operate in and between the incorporated towns of Georgetown and Millsboro as well as on US 113 between the towns. DART customers can connect to DART buses 206, 212, 215 and 303 at existing bus stops or can use the service to get from place to place in the microtransit zones.
