Fire Rips Through Rehoboth Beach Restaurant Saturday Morning

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating this morning’s fire that heavily damaged a Rehoboth Beach restaurant, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio.

Chionchio said the blaze, reported shortly after 2:00 am, occurred at Shrimpy’s Pub in the 37000 block of Rehoboth Ave. The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company arrived on the scene with flames coming out of the building.

State fire investigators are currently on the scene searching for the fire’s origin and cause. Heavy fire damage is estimated at $500,000. Two other units within the shopping center were also damaged.

The cause of this fire remains under investigation.
