Police: Man Beaten With Brick In Wilmington, Suspect Released On Unsecured Bail

Wilmington Police have arrested and charged a man following an assault that occurred earlier this month.

Police said on May 172021 at approximately 4:22 p.m., police responded to the 1200 block of West 2nd Street in reference to an assault that had occurred. Police located a 49-year-old male victim who had been struck multiple times with a brick. He was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Officers identified 42-year-old Linwood Black as a suspect and took him into custody a short time later, according to police.

Black has been charged with Assault (First Degree). He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $20,000 unsecured bail.
