Three To Hospital After Sunday Morning Crash

At approximately 3:46 am, New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Goodwill Fire Company, Wilmington Manor Fire Company, Delaware City Fire Company, Christiana Fire Company, and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to the intersection of River Road and Hamburg Road for a motor vehicle collision with reported entrapment. Responding units advised of multiple patients, with one heavily trapped.

NCCEMS Public Information Officer Senior Sergeant Abigail Haas said Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found three patients, a 41-year-old male trapped in a vehicle with multiple lacerations and injuries, an 18-year-old-male with no noted injuries, and an 18-year-old female with abdominal injuries.

The patients were in the care of Wilmington Manor Fire Company EMTs, Delaware City Fire Company EMTs, and Christiana Fire Company EMTs. The patients were all treated on scene and were transported to Christiana Hospital by ground via Wilmington Manor Fire Company, Delaware City Fire Company, and Christiana Fire Company ambulances, each accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics, and with the 41-year-old-male also accompanied by Delaware State Police Aviation Medic in the ambulance.

The 41- year-old-male was transported in critical condition, and the two 18-year-old patients were in stable condition at the time of transport said Haas.

Delaware State Police is investigating the crash.
