Dover Police Make Arrest In Motel Shooting Near State Police HQ

 

The Dover Police Department, Delaware Probation and Parole, and the U.S. Marshals First State Fugitive Task Force have arrested the suspect involved in the June 20th shooting at the Capital Inn, according to Public Information Office Sergeant Mark Hoffman.

Hoffman said at approximately 2:38 a.m., on Sunday, June 20th, 2021 at officers were called to the Capital Inn for a report of a shooting and located a 23-year-old male victim with a single gunshot wound to the back. The victim was transported to Kent General Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Yesterday Caleb Collins, 31, was taken into custody at a residence in the 7000 Block of S. DuPont Highway in Felton at approximately 12:33 p.m. without incident, said Hoffman.

Caleb Collins was committed to SCI on a $115,000 cash bond on the following offenses:
-Assault 1st Degree
-Robbery 1st Degree
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
