Police Confirm One Dead, Two Hospitalized In House Party Shooting

Earlier this morning, patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of Louis Court, in the community of Salem Woods for the report of shots being fired, police said Sunday.

Officials said the incident occurred during a large party that was taking place at a residence on the street. When the officers arrived, they discovered three victims that had been shot.

The officers and paramedics administered First-Aid to the victims, however, one of the victims, a 22-year-old man was pronounced dead, according to police. A second victim, a 17-year-old male, was struck by gunfire multiple times and was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition. The third victim, a 19-year-old male, was also transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound and was also listed in stable condition.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation. The investigation has revealed so far that there were a significant number of people on the street who may have witnessed and/or videoed an altercation leading up to the shooting.
