Man Gunned Down In Dover Early Wednesday

The Dover Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on Wednesday morning, according to Public Information Office Sergeant Mark Hoffman.

Hoffman said at approximately 1:33 Wednesday morning officers were called to the area of West North Street and Simon Circle in reference to a subject being shot. Upon arrival, officers located a 37-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. The victim was transported to Kent General Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The name of the victim is being withheld until the next of kin has been notified.

This incident is the second homicide in the City of Dover in 2021 with the first coming in an April 12th incident which resulted in an arrest.
