Police: Man Carjacked At Knife-Point In WAWA Parking Lot

New Castle– Delaware State Police are investigating a carjacking that took place in the parking lot of Wawa on Tuesday night, according to Public Information Officer, Corporal/1 Jason Hatchell.

Hatchell said the incident occurred at approximately 8:03 p.m., June 15, 2021, in the parking lot of Wawa, located at 4000 North Dupont Highway in New Castle. The 52-year-old male victim parked his 2012 Nissan Altima and exited the vehicle in an attempt to retrieve an item from the rear seat. The victim was approached by an unknown suspect who displayed a knife and demanded the keys to his vehicle. The victim complied and the suspect fled in the stolen car. The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a white male wearing all dark clothing and a black face mask.  Police said the stolen vehicle has not been recovered at this time.
