Tree Down On A Home In Newark, Resident Reported Trapped

Just after 7:15, as heavy winds moved through Newark, rescue crews for Aetna, Hose, Hook, and Ladder and surrounding companies responded to the unit block of Squirrel in Newark for reports of a tree down on a home.

Responding crews were told that the occupant of the home was trapped and that there may be fire at the home.

Crews and officers from the Newark Police Department have made their way into the home. At around 7:40 Command has reported that they have made access to the occupant and are in the process of bringing them out. It’s not clear if more than one person was in the home.

Crews are working to stabilize the tree and the roof.
