Police: Man Shot In Dover Says He Won’t Cooperate

Hoffman said officers responded to the 100 Block of West Loockerman Street after a report of an altercation that occurred. When officers arrived, they located a large amount of blood in front of Irish Mike’s. Video footage showed that a fight had occurred in front of the establishment that involved several people.

While officers were still on the scene, a 33-year-old male arrived at Kent General Hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. Officers interviewed the victim multiple times. The victim was extremely uncooperative, telling several different versions of the incident to officers as well as different locations where the incident may have occurred, according to Hoffman. The victim told officers that even if a suspect is found that he did not want them arrested and would not cooperate with the investigation.

Despite the victim not wanting to cooperate, officers interviewed several people that were in the area at the time of the altercation on Loockerman Street. None of the persons interviewed saw a gun or heard gunshots in the area. Officers checked multiple locations for additional physical evidence and could not locate a scene.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7111. Callers may remain anonymous.
