Troopers Identify Man Found Murdered In His Home Friday

Delaware State Police have identified the man found murdered in a Clayton home on August 20, 2021.

Police said on Friday, August 20, 2021, at approximately 2:40 p.m., the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit responded to assist the Clayton Police Department with a deceased subject located at a residence on the 200 block of South Rodney Street in Clayton. The victim, identified as 65-year-old Richard L. George Jr., 65, of Clayton, was found on the ground floor of the residence by a family member.

He suffered trauma to the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene. George’s body was taken to the Division of Forensic Science for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. The Homicide Unit assumed this investigation at the request of the Clayton Police Department.
