One To Hospital After SUV Slams Into Claymont Home Overnight

Just after 11:00, Thursday evening rescue crews from the Claymont Fire Company were dispatched to the 100 block of Glenrock Drive for reports of a vehicle into a structure.

First arriving confirmed that a vehicle had struck a home and one person was trapped in the vehicle. Shortly after the report, Command requested the New Castle County Collapse Team due to the damage to the home. Command then asked for a response from surrounding companies due to a gas leak in the home.

After around 20 minutes that patient was extricated from the vehicle and transported to the hospital by ambulance with county medics onboard.

Within minutes the gas leak was taken care of and the scene was brought under control.

This is a developing story. Additional details will be added to the story as they become available.
