Police Respond To Gunning Bedford MS After Receiving “False Report Of A Shooting”

Just before 9:30 this morning  FSU began receiving multiple reports of large numbers of police responding to Gunning Bedford Middle School for reports of a shooting.

Delaware State Police (DSP) and New Castle County Police responded to the school, located on Cox Nex Road in New Castle,  with their long guns drawn, according to witnesses at the scene.

A message to parents from the Colonial School District stated that the incident was due to a false report of a shooting that was texted to DSP.  Police remain on scene and are investigating.

No one has been injured and no medical was dispatched to the scene.
