Sunday Morning House Fire In Seaford Turns Into Crime Scene

Just after 1:45, Sunday morning, firefighters from several Sussex County fire companies responded to a home in the 11000 block of Hastings Farm Road in Seaford for reports of a house fire.

Upon arrival, crews reported smoke showing from the home. Firefighters entered the home and shortly thereafter they found a patient inside the home.

Delaware State Police (DSP) along with investigators from the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office were called to the scene to investigate. This morning DSP issued a statement saying that the fire scene is now a crime scene.

“Delaware State Police are currently conducting a criminal investigation on the 11000 block of Hastings Farm Road. As a result, there is an increased police presence in the area.

This investigation is in the early stages but there is no threat to the safety of the community. Hastings Farm Road is closed in the area of Coverdale Road as a result of this investigation.
