Bomb Threat Prompts Evacuation Of Cab Calloway School Of The Arts

Cab Calloway School of the Arts was evacuated earlier today due to a bomb threat, officials said Friday.

Hours after the school was evacuated officials released the following statement to parents:

Dear Cab Calloway School of the Arts Parents and Guardians,
We want to make you aware of an incident that occurred at Cab Calloway School of the Arts this afternoon.
At approximately 1:30 PM, school administration received a report of an alleged bomb threat. After conferring with district administration and the Wilmington Police Department, it was decided to immediately evacuate the building.

Students and staff were safely evacuated per school and district safety protocols. Please note we dismissed from the baseball field which may result in some delays in getting home today. All after school activities and practices for the day and evening are cancelled.
With the help of the police department and district personnel, a search of the building and campus is underway.
I will provide updates as more information becomes available.
