Investigators Say Miller’s Ale House Fire Damage Estimated At $50K

 

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office has released a preliminary statement regarding this morning’s fire at the Miller’s Ale House in Newark.

Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio said his office is investigating this morning’s fire that heavily damaged the  Newark restaurant.

Chionchio said the blaze, reported shortly before 5:30 am, occurred at the restaurant located at 1323 Churchmans Road in the Center Pointe Plaza. The Christiana Fire Company arrived on the scene with flames visible on the front of the building.

State fire investigators are currently on the scene searching for the fire’s origin and cause. There were no reported injuries. Fire damage was estimated at $50,000. The business was closed when the fire was discovered.

This fire remains under investigation.

Breaking Report

Just after 5:20, Wednesday morning firefighters from several area fire companies responded to Miller’s Ale House located at 1323 Churchman’s Road.

First arriving units reported fire through the roof. Updated reports indicate that the fire was in front of the building. The fire has been extinguished, crews are working to mop up hot spots.

It’s not clear how much damage has been caused by the fire. Fire investigators have arrived on scene. A preliminary report should be available later today.
