Smyrna-Clayton Cheer Team Looking To Bring Delaware A National Championship, You Can Help

Smyrna-Clayton Cheer team headed to Florida with the hopes of bringing Delaware a National Championship.

On November 6th, the Smyrna‐Clayton Pop Warner Jr. PeeWee Cheer team participated in Pop Warner’s Eastern Region Competition in Trenton, New Jersey. With hard work and dedication, these outstanding young ladies qualified for a spot to compete in the National Cheer & Dance Pop Warner Championships in Orlando, Florida!

“This accomplishment has been a season goal and a key focus for all to include the cheerleaders, our volunteer coaches, devoted parents, loving family, and supportive friends.”, said proud Smyrna cheer mom Tierra Bye. “We all have happily sacrificed and greatly committed ourselves to our district’s pop warner league for the positive experience and learning that athleticism leaves on our children through participation.”

“To say that we are beyond ecstatic is an understatement! These girls practiced hard conditioning through the summer, have been working hard after school, and now see what hard work and determination leads them to. The same group of girls, with the addition of a few new cheerleaders,  took the championship 1st place in the Youth Cheer & Dance Alliance back in February 2020!”, added Bye.

In order to help the squad of 30 girls make the trip to Florida, the group is asking Delaware businesses to consider helping with funding the trip. They think businesses will be proud to align with this group of local winners. The group is hoping to raise the $30,000 needed to take on the competition at Universal Studios from December 5th thru the 8th.

Those interested in donating to the fund can contact the team’s coach, Jessica Flatter, at [email protected]. They also donate at a Gofundme page the group has set up. https://gofund.me/9ee70dc2
