Thursday Crash Sends Two To Hospital, One By Air

At approximately 12:55 p.m., on Thursday New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Odessa Fire Company, Port Penn Fire Company, Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown, and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to the intersection of Dupont Parkway and Port Penn Road for reports of a motor vehicle collision with entrapment, according to NCCEMS Assistant PIO Emily Mallo.

Mallo said upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found a total of three patients. A 20-year-old female was treated for a possible head injury. She was transported to Christiana Hospital via Delaware State Police helicopter in serious condition. A second patient was evaluated on scene and transported to Christiana Hospital via Odessa Fire Company ambulance with minor injuries. A third patient was evaluated on scene and refused transport.

Delaware State Police are investigating the crash.
