Appoquinimink School District

FRIDAY, JANUARY 7: Grades K-12 will have virtual, synchronous learning; PK families will be contacted by their school with instructions about learning.
Due to forecasted heavy snowfall late Thursday into Friday morning, the Appoquinimink School District will conduct virtual, synchronous learning on Friday for students in GRADES K-12. Schedules will be sent directly from your school. —PRESCHOOL FAMILIES will be contacted by your school with instructions regarding expectations for Friday learning. — QUESTIONS about this announcement should be sent to your child’s building administrator. Copies of this message were transmitted electronically to the address on file for ASD families earlier this evening.

Brandywine School District 

Dear BSD Families,

Due to the impending winter weather, all schools in the Brandywine School District are closed tomorrow, Friday, January 7. This includes all after-school programs and sports practices and games. Students will not have any classes or assignments.

In addition to this email, parents and guardians will also be receiving a voicemail and text message with this same information.

We will continue to monitor the operational needs of our buildings over the weekend and will communicate any important messages to families by email, voicemail, and text message.

Caesar Rodney School District

In anticipation of measurable snowfall tomorrow morning, Friday, January 7, 2022, the Caesar Rodney School District will have a remote instructional day for all students. This will NOT be a “snow day” like earlier this week.

Students will follow their regular school day schedule – and YES, there will be time built in to enjoy the outdoors or snow activities.

Capital School District

REMOTE LEARNING CONTINUING FOR FRIDAY, JANUARY 7TH
Due to the anticipated snowfall in the morning, as well as the evolving COVID related operating issues, we will continue remote instruction at all schools for tomorrow Friday, January 7th, 2022.

Students that attend virtual at-home learning will follow their normal VAHL schedule. Remote classes will follow their normal schedule as they did on the remote Firefly days in September. Teachers will be working to ensure families have the appropriate links for instruction tomorrow. If you have questions about the zoom links or remote schedule for your child, please email your child’s teacher or principal.

All 12-month employees are to report by 12 pm. Buildings and Grounds staff will receive reporting instructions from their supervisors. Please stay safe and use caution when traveling.

The weather forecast currently calls for additional inclement weather this weekend and we are continuing to monitor increasing cases of COVID, which is impacting the staffing of classrooms. At this time, our capacity to return to in-person learning on Monday, January 10th is still being evaluated. Please look for a communication from the district by Sunday, January 9th, 2022.

Christina School District

NOTICE FOR FRIDAY, JANUARY 7
REMOTE LEARNING FOR ALL SCHOOLS

Due to snow and icy conditions that are predicted tomorrow, ALL Christina schools will move to Synchronous Remote Learning for Friday, January 7th. All After-school activities will also be canceled Friday.

All staff will work remotely on Friday and Custodial and Maintenance staff should check with their supervisors for start times. Please contact your supervisor with questions.

We encourage you to check our website for frequently updated information. Please remember that any decision made with regard to bad weather and emergencies affects the current school day only; a new announcement will be made if the condition continues.


Colonial School District

Colonial schools will be closed for all students and 10-month staff tomorrow, Friday, January 7th.
Due to the weather forecast, all Colonial schools will be closed for all students and 10-month staff tomorrow, Friday, January 7th. Offices will be open, with 12-month staff having the option to work remotely from home. There will be no after-school activities and all sports have been canceled on Friday, January 7th. Check with your coach for the status of Saturday practices and games.
-12-month staff must contact their custodial chief if they plan on reporting to a building. Operational staff will be contacted by their supervisors as to their work schedule.

Milford School District

With the weather forecast continuing to show a high confidence level for winter weather overnight and in the morning, Milford School District will have a remote instructional day for all schools tomorrow, January 7, 2022. We are making an early call so that families can plan accordingly. Each school will send further communication to families this evening with their school’s schedule for tomorrow. We look forward to students returning to schools in person on Monday, January 10, 2022.

Snow Day!
Due to anticipated poor conditions on Friday, especially during the morning commute, January 7 will be a snow day. There will be no virtual learning or teaching. All NCCVT 12-month staff members should work from home.

Red Clay School District

Schools Closed on January 7 (Offices: Work Remotely)

Due to the impending inclement weather, all Red Clay schools will be closed on Friday, January 7. This includes all afterschool activities and athletics. Twelve-month employees should work remotely.

Custodial and transportation employees will receive specific instructions from their supervisors.
