Townsend Crash Sends Three To Hospital Sunday

NCCEMS Assistant PIO Oliver Kocher said upon arrival as the first unit on-scene, New Castle County Paramedics found the following patients: 1. 86-year-old male. The patient suffered injuries to his chest. The patient was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and was transported to Christiana Hospital via Odessa Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in serious condition at the time of transport.

2. 83-year-old female. The patient suffered injuries to her head. She was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and was transported to Christiana Hospital via American Legion Ambulance Service ambulance.

3. 29-year-old female. The patient suffered extremity injuries and was trapped in the vehicle for over 10 minutes while rescue personnel worked to free her. The patient was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and was transported to Christiana Hospital via Townsend Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.

4. Approximately 30-year-old male who refused treatment or transport.

Delaware State Police is investigating the incident.
