Update: Fifth Person Shot In New Castle County On Wednesday

Wilmington Police are investigating a fifth New Castle County Shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday.

Police said that at approximately 8:41 p.m. a 31-year-old male gunshot victim arrived at the hospital in stable condition. Police believe this latest shooting occurred in the area of 24th and Carter Streets.

This shooting comes just hours after three people were shot on Vandever Avenue. Just after 2:30 in the afternoon police responded to the 900 block of Vandever Avenue.

Arriving officers located a 27-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital by Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4 in critical condition.

Two other people, a 49-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were also found shot at the location. Both were transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Earlier in the day, Middletown Police responded to a shooting on Liborio Drive.

Middletown Police said they are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday morning according to Sr. Lieutenant Dawn Feldmann.

Feldmann said at approximately 10:46 Wednesday morning, the Middletown Police responded to the unit block of Liborio Drive in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival police located one victim who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Middletown Police Detectives are in the early stages of the investigation. They are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Detective Womer at 302-376-9950.

They are also are asking residents to review any video footage they may have and report anything that could potentially assist in the investigation.
