Man Sought In Connection With New Castle Slaying Found In Maryland

A New Castle man wanted in connection with an early April homicide outside a New Castle area motel has been captured, according to Public Information Officer, Sergeant Heather Pepper.

Pepper said on April 10, 2022, at approximately 2:42 p.m., troopers responded to The Super Lodge located at 1213 West Avenue, New Castle, for a reported stabbing. Responding troopers found the victim, a 45-year-old New Castle man, outside the motel suffering from an apparent stab wound to his upper torso area. He was transported to an area hospital by EMS, where he was pronounced deceased.

Through investigative measures, Frank Deshields, was established as a suspect in this homicide said  Pepper. On April 11, 2022, an arrest warrant was obtained for Deshields for Murder First Degree and weapon charges.

On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 2:35 p.m., Frank Deshields was arrested without incident by the USMS First State Fugitive Task Force at a residence in the 500 block of E. Williams Street, Salisbury, MD. Deshields was transported to the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack where he was charged as a Fugitive of Justice. Deshields is being held at the Wicomico County Corrections Center pending extradition to Delaware.
