One Airlifted To Burn Center After Early Morning House Fire

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire that heavily damaged a Milford home today, April 4, 2022, according to Delaware State Fire Marshal Chief Deputy B. Scott Bullock.

Bullock said that on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 4:15 am, the home’s occupant notified a neighbor that the house was on fire in the 700 block of Cicada Lane in Milford.

The Carlisle Fire Co of Milford responded to the alarm and arrived with heavy fire throughout the residence. Assistance was requested from several neighboring fire companies to help extinguish the fire. The fire was placed under control by the fire department at 5:16 am.

The home’s single occupant, a 52-year-old male, sustained burn injuries and was flown to the Crozier Burn Center in Upland, Pennsylvania by the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit from the scene.

Deputy State Fire Marshals responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.

The fire remains under investigation at this time.

Currently, the victim is listed in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.

Damages are estimated at $200,000.
