Police: Victims Beaten, Pistol-Whipped Inside Newark Home During Robbery

On March 24th, 2022, at 11:20 a.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to an address on Erskine Court, in the community of Greenbridge for the report of a robbery, officials said Friday.

Authorities said when the officers arrived, they learned that the victims a 26-year-old female, and a 32-year-old male, were inside their residence on Erskine Court when an acquaintance arrived accompanied by an unknown individual. This acquaintance, 31-year-old, Keron Flowers, and the unknown individual later identified as 26-year-old Isiah Boykin were invited in. Then during the visit, the male victim went into a bedroom and was followed by Flowers. Flowers then forced the male victim onto the bed at gunpoint and started assaulting him, according to police. Hearing the struggle, the female victim entered the bedroom and saw Flowers choking the male and heard Flowers yelling about the location of a safe. Then the female turned around and Boykin then points a gun at her and asks her where the safe is. When the victim refused and attempted to escape Boykin then begins to hit her in the face with the handgun police said.

The female victim was then able to break away and go out to her driveway. There she screamed for help and this caused Flowers and Boykin to flee the residence and drive away in a Hyundai Tucson.

The female victim was transported to a local hospital. She was eventually treated and released for lacerations and contusions.

The patrol officers broadcasted the vehicle information and officers from New Castle City Police Department were able to stop the vehicle on Buttonwood Ave near Railroad Ave. During this stop, Boykin fled, but Flowers was taken into custody.
