Three Minquadale Firefighters Injured In Rollover Crash Thursday

Three Minquadale Firefighters were briefly trapped after their rescue truck overturned in New Castle Thursday evening.

Just before 7:00, Minquadale Fire Company’s Rescue 22 was responding to an accident involving a white suv that slide off the road at I-295 NB and Landers Lane in New Castle.

As they approached the accident the rescue truck collided with a tractor-trailer and overturned, trapping three firefighters inside.

Additional crews responded to the scene and freed the firefighters within minutes. We are told that the firefighters all sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported in stable condition.

Officials have not released the condition of the patients involved in the original accident. Three children and two adults were reportedly inside the white SUV when it left the roadway. Photos from the scene show that the airbags deployed in the suv.
