A former Delaware and Maryland police officer initially arrested on a single rape charge in May is now facing seven counts of second-degree rape following an indictment by a Delaware Superior Court grand jury.
William Paskey, 34, of Harrington, was indicted September 7, 2026, on seven counts of second-degree rape. The charges involve allegations concerning at least seven victims and conduct dating from 2014 through 2025.
According to investigators, multiple alleged incidents occurred after Paskey met women through dating apps. In some cases, Paskey allegedly invited the women to his residence in Felton, where the alleged sexual assaults occurred. The indictment expands a case that began with Paskey’s arrest on May 5. Delaware State Police initially charged him with one count of second-degree rape following an investigation by the Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit.
That investigation began in May 2025 after authorities received a sexual assault allegation involving Paskey. Investigators said Paskey met a woman through a dating app in September 2022 and invited her to his Felton residence. During the encounter, Paskey allegedly became aggressive and engaged in nonconsensual sexual acts while refusing multiple requests from the woman to stop.
Paskey was employed as a law enforcement officer at the time of that alleged incident but was not on duty. He was taken into custody on May 5, arraigned and released after posting a $20,000 secured bond.
Paskey worked for several law enforcement agencies in Delaware and Maryland during the period covered by the allegations. Between 2014 and 2021, he worked for the Dagsboro, Ellendale and Blades police departments. He later worked for the Ridgely Police Department in Maryland. Maryland online court records show that the last system entry for Paskey as Ridgely Police Officer was in January of 2024. However, it’s not clear when Paskey actually left his employement with that department.
Delaware court records now show Paskey’s case remains open in Kent County Superior Court. He is scheduled for arraignment on September 23, followed by a case review on October. His trial is currently scheduled for January 11, 2027, in Kent County Superior Court in Dover.
Custody records lists Paskey as being out on bond under supervised pretrial release.
