Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred in the Frederica area on Sunday afternoon, according to  Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Leonard DeMalto.

DeMalto said on May 29, 2022, at approximately 1:56 p.m., a maroon 2008 Cadillac DTS was traveling westbound on Bowers Beach Road east of Skeeter Neck Road. Both the operator of the Volkswagen, a 69-year-old male and the passenger, a 69-year-old female both from Lewes, DE, were properly restrained. The driver was transported via ambulance to an area hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The passenger was transported via ambulance to an area hospital for serious injuries, where she was later pronounced deceased.
