Police: Search On For Driver That Fatally Struck Dover Bicyclist On Saturday

The Dover Police Department is investigating a fatal hit and run accident that occurred on Saturday, June 18th, 2022, according to Police Public Information Office Sergeant Mark Hoffman.

Hoffman said officers responded to the area of South Governors Avenue and West North Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers located a 71-year-old male bicyclist in the roadway with fatal injuries. Witnesses reported that an SUV fled the scene after striking the bicyclist said Hoffman. The SUV fled northbound on South Governors and then westbound on West Loockerman Street.
